New Student Guide · 新生入門
Starting out? Start here.
New students don't need everything on day one. This is the sensible order most families work through — and your instructor will confirm exactly what your class requires.
The first-class kit
The two things every student wears from the very first lesson:
- Uniform (dobok)The uniform in the photo above is the black style — ask in store which color and size your school uses for your level.
- White beltEvery journey starts at white. Belts are sized to the student — get fitted at the store rather than guessing.
Fit matters more than anything. A dobok should let you kick high without binding, and a belt should wrap twice and tie cleanly. That's why the Mesa store fits students in person — bring the student, not just a size guess.
As you progress
Add gear as your training adds contact and power:
- Sparring gearHead gear and the rest of the protective set, once your class begins partner sparring.
- Training shoesLightweight martial-arts shoes like the Dynamics pair pictured, for mat work and demos.
- Your next beltEach test moves you one color up — the full ladder is in the Belts category.

The folded belts in the store photo show the same ladder — white, yellow, green, blue and red, with stripe belts in between.

Before you ask
At the Mesa school: 805 S. Stapley Dr., Mesa, AZ 85204. That's the main store — the building with “Martial Arts Supplies” painted on the wall in the photo at the top of this page.
No. As the original page puts it, “the supply goods are available in most Brother's TaeKwonDo schools in Arizona,” and “we will deliver the goods from Mesa to branch schools as soon as possible.” Ask at your own school first.
Start with the uniform and a white belt, fitted in person. Sparring gear, shoes and training equipment come later, as your classes call for them — your instructor will tell you when. See the starter guide above.
Each category card above links to its full original page on brotherstkd.com, where the school posts more item photos. The original site doesn't list prices online, so for current stock and prices call the store at 480-844-1001 or email brotherstkd@gmail.com.
Get fitted at the store. Uniforms, belts, shoes and head gear all fit differently, and growing kids change sizes fast — an in-person fitting at Mesa (or help at your branch) beats guessing a size online.
Gear up at Mesa,
or ask at your school.
Call ahead and the store can have your size ready — or order through your branch and Mesa will send it over.
